I own two Beaulieu R-16's and a CP-16 R/A. I say get a CP-16 if you are looking to move up to 16mm.
Don't get me wrong, I love my Nizo 6080 and Canon 1014 XL-S and all my other Super 8mm equipment. When it comes to doing work with reversal film, I say stick with what you got (wish I had a sound synched Nizo 6080). But if you are going to move up to 16mm you might as well start cheap and right. Get something crystal synched.
I got my Crystal Synched CP-16 R/A for $1050 (okay, the guy said the lens was not in great condition and I did have to pay another $150 to get that fixed) from a local guy who used it in the 70's for . It's damn quite and works great. Think about it. $1200 total is not that bad to move up to 16mm.
